Cisco ha appena rilasciato cinque patch di sicurezza per i suoi sistemi operativi IOS 12.x ed IOS R12.x, integrati in alcune sue periferiche hardware dedicate al networking.
I router Cisco Catalyst 6500 e 7600, in mancanza delle patch, potrebbero restare esposti ad attacchi di tipo Denial-of-Service (DoS) non riuscendo più, di fatto, a gestire il traffico in ingresso.
Alcune problematiche, inoltre, risolvibili mediante l’installazione degli aggiornamenti di sicurezza appena resi disponibili, potrebbero causare problemi di memoria nelle periferiche Cisco oppure causare reload.

La società danese Secunia indica le vulnerabilità scoperte in IOS come “moderatamente critiche” e propone, nella sua analisi, i link diretti ai vari bollettini pubblicati da Cisco (ved. questa pagina. Vulnerabilità nel software Cisco non si riscontravano dal mese di Ottobre scorso.
