Probabilmente un tip scontato per molti ma efficace ed adatto in molti casi soprattutto per la sua semplicità.
Se volete evitare che i vostri colleghi, amici o parenti accedano a Windows 9x, scegliete dal menù Avvio/Start , Programmi la voce “Prompt di MS DOS”.
Portatevi nella cartella principale di Windows digitando CD\WINDOWS
Rinominate il file WIN.COM, per esempio, in SYSTEM.COM utilizzando il comando:
REN WIN.COM SYSTEM.COM
Riavviando il sistema verrà mostrato, in fase di avvio, un messaggio d’errore che informa circa l’impossibilità di avviare Windows (non è possibile trovare il file WIN.COM).
Curiosi e ficcanaso penseranno che qualcosa non funzioni e non potranno proseguire.
Per voi avviare Windows sarà facile: basterà digitare al prompt di Dos SYSTEM e premere Invio.
