Adaptec ha rilasciato la versione 4.70 dei driver ASPI utilizzati per l’accesso, da parte di Windows, a molte periferiche hardware per la memorizzazione di dati.
La nuova versione dei driver ASPI è pienamente compatibile con Windows XP (32 e 64 bit) e risolve alcuni bug evidenziatisi durante l’utilizzo delle precedenti versioni in ambiente Windows NT 4.0 e Windows 2000.
A beneficio di tutti i patiti della masterizzazione o del “CD-ripping”, i driver ASPI servono, fondamentalmente, per eseguire operazioni di lettura/scrittura su CD ROM. Gran parte dei software di masterizzazione e quelli per estrarre tracce audio dai CD ROM, si appoggiano ai driver ASPI.
