Microsoft rilascia uno strumento per portare in Windows qualunque distribuzione Linux

WSL DistroLauncher Sample consentirà di rendere qualunque distribuzione Linux compatibile con Windows e direttamente avviabile all'interno del nuovo WSL.

Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) è il componente aggiunto in Windows 10 e portato al debutto anche in Windows Server che permette di caricare gli eseguibili Linux, in modo nativo, sulla piattaforma Windows.

Nelle scorse settimane Microsoft ha annunciato la pubblicazione nel suo store di diverse distribuzioni Linux, l’ultima delle quali Kali: Kali Linux sbarca in Windows 10 e può essere installato ed eseguito direttamente. Tra le altre distribuzioni aggiunte Ubuntu, SUSE e Debian.

In rete sono distribuite molteplici distribuzioni Linux, alcune di esse deputate a svolgere compiti ben specifici.
Microsoft ha perciò deciso di pubblicare online un pacchetto chiamato WSL DistroLauncher Sample, reso disponibile su GitHub come prodotto opensource.

WSL DistroLauncher Sample consente di portare qualunque distribuzione Linux in Windows e renderla compatibile con WSL.
Il software è destinato sia alla comunità degli sviluppatori che seguono i vari progetti Linux, sia ai programmatori autonomi.

La pubblicazione sul Microsoft Store sarà però consentita solamente a coloro che sono parte del team di sviluppo delle varie distribuzioni Linux.
