Nokia, leader tra i produttori di telefoni cellulari, ha rilasciato un software che permetterà ai programmatori Linux di sviluppare software Java per i propri telefonini.
Da sempre sostenitrice della tecnologia Java di Sun Microsystems sui suoi cellulari, Nokia da oggi rende possibile sviluppare applicazioni Java utilizzando il sistema operativo Linux. Secondo Evans Data Group, infatti, il 12% dei programmatori di software per sistemi wireless utilizza Linux. Ecco quindi la risposta di Nokia: un tool che consente di creare applicazioni compatibili con la versione 1 di MIDP (Mobile Information Device Platform). Il tool di sviluppo è prelevabile gratuitamente da qui.
