A distanza di alcuni mesi dal debutto di Pi Zero, la versione più economica (costa appena 5 dollari) del single-board computer di Raspberry (Raspberry Pi Zero, scheda programmabile a soli 5 dollari), la società inglese ha presentato la nuova Pi 3.

Rispetto a Pi 2, presentata a febbraio 2015, Raspberry Pi 3 ha eguale dimensione e stesse componenti. Alcune di esse, però, sono state notevolmente migliorate.

Raspberry Pi 3, le novità della nuova scheda
La nuova versione della scheda Raspberry, infatti, integra un più veloce SoC quad-core Broadcom BCM2837 a 64 bit basato su CPU ARM Cortex-A53. Vanta inoltre il supporto Wi-Fi 802.11n e Bluetooth 4.1 integrato.

Secondo i tecnici dell’azienda, Pi 3 offrirebbe performance migliori del 50-60% rispetto alla Pi 2 nella gestione di codice a 32 bit e 10 volte superiori rispetto alla prima Pi.

Nella nuova scheda i LED sono stati riposizionati vicino allo slot per l’inserimento di schede microSD.

Raspberry Pi 3 può essere acquistata al costo di 35 dollari.
