Dopo che Microsoft aveva accusato TomTom della presunta violazione di alcuni brevetti software (ved. questa precedente notizia), la società olandese produttrice di sistemi per la navigazione GPS ha risposto denunciando a sua volta il colosso di Redmond.

TomTom sostiene infatti come Microsoft abbia essa stessa violato quattro brevetti all’interno del suo software “Streets & Trips”, conosciuto in Europa con il nome di “AutoRoute” e richiede un congruo risarcimento dichiarando di aver già notificato alla società le sue contestazioni.

La denuncia di TomTom è stata presentata dinanzi alla corte distrettuale della Virginia (Eastern District).

Da parte sua, Microsoft starebbe analizzando le eccezioni sollevate da TomTom e rimane fiduciosa di trovare una soluzione definitiva.
