Visione artificiale con Raspberry Pi e AIY Vision Kit appena presentato da Google

Google lancia sul mercato AIY Vision Kit, un prodotto che - collegato con una Raspberry Pi - consentirà di sviluppare applicazioni per l'intelligenza artificiale. Già disponibili alcuni modelli capace di rendere il sistema in grado di riconoscere oggetti, persone, animali e volti.

Google tende di nuovo la mano ai maker di tutto il mondo che utilizzano il single-board computer Raspberry Pi per i progetti più disparati.

La società di Mountain View ha appena annunciato AIY Vision Kit, un nuovo prodotto che include una scheda, un software per la gestione del sistema di visione artificiale, un “case” in cartonato e alcuni accessori.

Il software utilizzato da AIY Vision Kit permette l’utilizzo di tre modelli di reti neurali: il primo riconosce circa un migliaio di oggetti comuni; il secondo volti ed espressioni facciali; il terzo è una sorta di rilevatore di persone, cani e gatti.

Chi acquisterà AIY Vision Kit, disponibile a partire dal prossimo 31 dicembre al prezzo di 44,99 dollari, potrà ovviamente creare anche i propri modelli usando la piattaforma per il machine learning Google TensorFlow.

I tecnici di Google spiegano che AIY Vision Kit non richiede neppure l’accesso alla rete per l’elaborazione sul cloud delle informazioni perché si basa su un’unità di elaborazione integrata.
