Visual Studio Online, editor che permetterà di sviluppare da qualunque browser e dispositivo

Microsoft presenta Visual Studio Online, un nuovo membro della famiglia Visual Studio: condivide il codice dell'editor Visual Studio Code, supporta IntelliCode, i nuovi tool per l'intelligenza artificiale oltre a tutte le estensioni.

Microsoft ha annunciato il nuovo progetto Visual Studio Online, un editor online che permetterà di sviluppare, utilizzando i linguaggi di programmazione preferiti servendosi unicamente del browser web, da qualunque dispositivo e senza installare nulla in locale.

Il servizio online è basato a sua volta su Visual Studio Code, popolare editor Microsoft gratuito e opensource. Il nuovo Visual Studio Online supporterà tutte le estensioni al momento disponibili per Visual Studio Code così come i workspace, funzionalità utilissima quando si lavora contemporaneamente su più progetti.
Lo strumento in fase di lancio supporterà anche IntelliCode, con la possibilità di ottenere suggerimenti in tempo reale sulla sintassi da utilizzare con i vari linguaggi, e i tool per l’intelligenza artificiale presentati da Microsoft durante l’evento Build 2019.

Visual Studio Online non si propone come un sostituto per gli ambienti di sviluppo integrati quanto piuttosto come una risorsa basata sul cloud che permette di condividere estensioni, configurazioni e strumenti di lavoro tra più dispositivi arricchendo ulteriormente la famiglia Microsoft Visual Studio.

L’utilizzo di Visual Studio Online è per adesso riservato a coloro che aderiranno alla preview privata; successivamente l’accesso sarà aperto a tutti attraverso questa pagina.
